Sadly, no, the “Red Robin” in question is not Tim Drake, former ally of Batman and current leader of the Teen Titans. While such a crossover and team-up would be heavily notable between the two companies (as they haven’t had a crossover in a few years as they’re battling things out for comic shelf supremacy between Marvel Now! and The New 52!), the crossover is instead between the upcoming movie The Wolverine and the burger chain Red Robin.
GrubGrade reports that the chain has two new menu items in promotion of the meal.
The Berserker Burger (named after Wolverine’s “berserker” attack style) is a fire-griled burger topped with spicy pickles, Sriracha onion straws, zesty aioli, and cheddar cheese, all sandwiched in a brioche bun that has Wolverine’s signature claw marks on it. Naturally, for a character that can’t be hurt, you need the bottomless steak fries that come with it.
Pairing with the Berserker Burger is the Kuzuri Style Tavern Double. Asian-stylized, it’s a double-patty burger that includes “samurai” slaw, ginger garlic wonton strips, and cilantro. As Wolverine travels to Japan in the plot of the movie and fights the Silver Samurai, this sandwich might be a bit more villainous than the other.
Pairing with these two burgers are a new promotion encouraging people to the movie and eat the meal. If someone purchases a $25 Wolverine-stylized gift card by June 30th, they’ll receive a free movie ticket. If they see the movie during the opening weekend (July 26, 27, and 28), you’ll get $3 off your next order the Monday-Thursday following.
This crossover will naturally drive business to both the restaurant and movie theaters. Have you considered looking at what sort of cross-promotional material you can do with local businesses to support both?
